Promium releases enhanced version of Element DataSystem LIMS

Update increases productivity and access to information.

BOTHELL, WA, July 28, 2009 - Promium, LLC announced today the availability of the Element DataSystem version 6.0 laboratory information management system. This major new release of the company’s flagship LIMS solution offers features that increase laboratory productivity and expand access to critical analytical information. The release represents a continuation of the process Promium started over a decade ago to provide the most intuitive, productive and cost effective LIMS available.

The 6.0 release has been in beta testing for many months and with direct input from several customers provides enhancements that expand basic LIMS functionality as well as address more complex testing regimes. "Element has a very solid underlying framework of LIMS functionality and the new capabilities build on that foundation," said Scot Cocanour, Promium CEO and co-founder. "Our product focus has always been in three areas: productivity, quality management, and access to information. With this release we have advanced all three."

Product functionality that impacts a broad cross-section of environmental laboratories has been enhanced, while other unique capabilities that are targeted for specific applications have been added. "We’ve included features like kitting, automated bench sheet calculations, enhanced case narrative, and extended reporting capabilities that have broad appeal," noted Buddy Wilson, President, CTO and co-founder. "At the same time, some of our clients need more specialized features like cascading projects and analysis versioning. Our goal has been to keep Element very intuitive to use while leveraging the flexible platform to extend functionality."

Two other product updates offer additional key benefits as well. The introduction of a data repository containing final calculated results enables Element to reduce re-calculations and improve reporting efficiency. And the repository also provides a reliable and easily accessible source of information for Element ClientConnect, the dynamic web-based client access feature that gives laboratory clients the ability to view work order status and testing data and reports online.
