EPA Region 2 Selects Promium LIMS

Element DataSystem LIMS now in seven out of ten EPA regional labs.

BOTHELL, WA, June 22, 2009 - Promium, LLC announced today that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 2 testing laboratory has selected the company's Element DataSystem laboratory information management system (LIMS) to help improve productivity and strengthen quality management.

As one of ten EPA regional labs, EPA Region 2 covers New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and seven federally-recognized Indian Nations. Region 2 conducted an extensive public review of laboratory information management systems before selecting Element. The implementation of a new LIMS is part of an ongoing effort to improve the efficiency of the EPA laboratorires. Six other Regional EPA labs including Region 3, Region 4, Region 5, Region 6, Region 8, and Region 9 also use Element DataSystem.

NEIC serves as the principal source of science and technical expertise to support criminal and civil enforcement investigations under the Office of Enforcement Compliance Assurance, Office of Criminal Enforcement, Forensics and Training. Element has also been implemented by the EPA Emergency Response Service Center, and Promium participated in the EPA mobile laboratory pilot program funded through the Department of Homeland Security.
